Japan Hakuba Backcountry Skiing

Incredible mountain terrain, deep powder, food, and immersive culture.

The Hakuba area has many outstanding options: deep powder skiing through ancient forests, steep chutes, and ridge lines. Our week long professionally guided ski and snowboarding trips in Hakuba are a mix of lift accessed backcountry and full days of ski touring. Our guides have years of experience in Japan and in depth knowledge of best skiing in the Hakuba area.

Hakuba is home to some of the biggest terrain in the country. Peaks soar to nearly 3000m elevation. Big winter storms with dry cold Japanese powder. At the end of each day, we will return to our boutique slope side lodge for a well earned local craft beer. Soak in the natural onsen at the lodge, or visit several nearby onsens steeped in Japanese culture and history. When it’s time to eat, the lodge has a full service kitchen serving delicious Japanese meals.

Safety

Avalanche and mountain safety are always top priority on all trips. On the first day of your trip, we provide a thorough avalanche and safety training session. Our guides are fully certified by the ACMG (Association of Canadian Mountain Guides) and CAA (Canadian Avalanche Association).
